Hi all,
Many of us have friends, loved ones, and family members who are Terrestrials (or non-divers to use the un-PC term). This limits our diving to a couple of times a year.
To this end, we are planning on organizing a club snorkeling-diving trip. The objective of the trip would be to introduce those who are too young or just have not had the chance, to the other 70% of the planet and to have lots and lots of family-friendly fun.
On Saturday, October 26, we would have a snorkeling-dive trip geared for club members and their non-diver friends, family, and significant others (snorkelers would have to sign a waiver, or better yet a DCoSV membership application). The plan is to hit either Lover’s Point or Breakwater, conditions permitting. We would have time for a first dive in the morning and the second dive/surface interval would be the snorkeling, followed by a second dive or lunch/cook-out. The first dive would be around the usual time of 8:30/9:00. Snorkelers only would meet at the Aquarius dive shop at a civilized 9:00 or 9:30. Aquarius rents wetsuits for kids starting at about age 6 or 7. The wetsuits are $10 per day or $35 for a head-to-toe package for the day. Aquarius has a total of about 10 kids wetsuits.
Let me know if you are interested in joining and if anyone wants to help organize the cookout.
Regards,
Ken
